GLÉASTA.

Hello I’m Mary owner at Gléasta. Thank you for visiting my shop. I discovered my love of sewing at a very young age from watching my grandmother and mother making their own clothes. I started with dolls clothes and then progressed to making my own clothes. Sewing has been my hobby and passion since. I love fabric and enjoy searching for unique and different fabrics. Then the real fun begins, creating a bag , scarf or some other accessory.  At Gleasta you will find  a unique handmade gift to suit any occasion. All my products are carefully handmade by me in Ireland using specially selected fabrics. Unique handmade gifts with the emphasis on design and quality. I create limited quantities of each product and some onceoff pieces too. Sewing is my passion and  it is a joy to create and make unique gifts for you to enjoy.

Rodgerson Handcraft

Hello and thanks for visiting my shop! Welcome to my sewed products and knitted creations! I’m an avid knitter and sewer, which comes as no surprise as I’ve grown up in a home filled with sewing machines and knitting needles. My mum made clothes for myself and my sister. My Aunts Shirley, Eileen, and Katie and both Granny’s Isobel and Catherine were all talented home sewers and knitters. To say these skills are in my blood would be an understatement. I love the idea that items we sew and knit can become treasured items. I love bright, colourful and fun fabrics. I hope this translates through the fabrics I choose in creating my post breast surgery pillows, car accessory bags and table accessories. Being part of the this community and having a shop here allows me to have the world at my doorstep and I am so grateful for the platform it has given me. I pride myself on the quality of my work. I hope you enjoy my sewed and knitted creations as much as I’ve enjoy making them. Thanks so much for reading this biography, Mary Rodge

Helen Marry Stained Glass

Helen Marry grew up on a family farm near to Newgrange in the very heart of Ireland’s historical Boyne valley and from an early age produced handcrafts for sale in her mother’s craft shop. She trained originally as an agriculturalist and subsequently worked in community and adult education before taking time out to concentrate on her family. During this time at home Helen developed further her passion for crafts and focussed particularly on stained glass, taking a number of courses in the discipline. Having initially produced pieces for family and friends Helen has decided to share her work with a wider audience. Helens work is strongly influenced by the art of the great Neolithic cemetery in the bend of the Boyne, where she still lives and works. All the pieces are original designs, are hand-cut, hand-joined and finished by Helen in her home studio beside the passage grave of Knowth. Her colours are those of nature, soft greens and blues enlivened by reds and yellows, the lines in her work are reminiscent of the curves of the great tumulus in the shadow of which it is created.

Julie G Silver Studio

Welcome to Julie G Silver Studio - My studio in Wexford gives me the chance to let out my creative side designing and creating OOAK little gems to treasure… Gemstones have always fascinated me, they are a wonder of nature, giving us a beautiful glance at what the earth can create.  Each piece of jewellery made from gemstones has a story behind it, having great cultural significance and appeal beyond not only its aesthetic beauty. My jewellery is not just a fashion statement but a symphony connecting Earths beauty to the wearer or owner of each piece.  All my gemstones are ethically sourced and certified when I purchase from a professional Gemologist of over 20 years. All are finished using 925 Sterling Silver, Freshwater Pearls, various precious/semi-precious stones, crystals and high end quality beads.  Having a background in an  MA in Visual Art Practice and my earlier influences from a creative family, fires my passion to be constantly creative and of course my love of designing and creating  jewellery.Follow me on Instagram and Facebook to see more of my work and to find out what I am up to. Pop me a message if you like something bespoke making, or a design change
