Bestseller – The Clay Conifer was born out of a need I identified for truly special, handmade unique gifts that didn’t cost any more than a box of chocs or a bunch of flowers but that the teacher would treasure and remember forever.
I have 5 star reviews over the years of selling these to prove how delighted teachers were to receive them.
you can choose between a variety of shapes , choose between Teacher, Principal, SNA or TA or Preschool Teacher AND there is also an option to add the childs name at the bottom of each piece for an additional 1.50
The process: I ‘cut’ the shapes out of rolled wet clay before stamping the wording using ink onto the now damp clay. then comes the part I struggle with (!) – leaving it well alone for 2-4 days until it thoroughly dries out. Once that’s done, I get to work sanding each piece twice, the first is to remove imperfections and smoothen the edges and the second is to clean up and ink that has bled and smoothen the surface. Then I attach natural jute string and beads or ribbon before lightly varnishing to seal the stamping. finally I get to package it up and post out to my wonderful customers

I make each item from scratch and as such, there is a lot of time involved in each piece. Once the order is placed I generally get to work on them within 12 hours so cancellations are not always possible. I will not accept exchanges or returns on personalised items as I cannot re sell. However, in the case where your order might arrive broken I will make and send a replacement ASAP or if you prefer I will issue a full refund.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a busy Mam of two living in the beautiful Hill of Down, Co Meath next to the Royal Canal Greenway. I’m a native of Edenderry, Offaly. In my former career I had an undergraduate degree in Social studies and was studying for a degree in forensic psychology. Most of my career I spent managing a youth justice project supporting vulnerable teenagers. However all of that changed when I took a career break to spend time with my young children. My outlook completely changed and my priorities did too. I have always been a creative soul and find pure joy in making with my own hands. So with huge family support I established my own little business – The Clay Conifer and have never been happier. My goal is to be Irelands ‘go to’ small business to shop for the highest quality handmade clay gifts for all occasions.
