This handmade framed glass ‘Fuchsia’ has been made from hand-cut pieces of cherry red and purple coloured glass on a circular white glass background, kiln-fused at temperatures up to 800c in a process that take seven hours from start to finish.
The glass fuchsia has been mounted in a limed white timber frame, which can either be hung on a wall or stood on a table, with the integral rear prop.
These make lovely gift items, and can also be customised with text and logos on additional small white glass ‘plaques’ – which makes them suitable for weddings, anniversaries, commemorative gifts etc.
Photos show basic fuchsia, fuchsia with one line of customisation and fuchsia with two customisation plaques.
A beautiful decorative piece – a year-round reminder of West Cork (the fuchsia flower is the unofficial emblem of West Cork).
