Darning Mushroom ka1
This wood darning mushroom is great to put under a hole that need repair and it provides a nice surface. It has a flat base so it can sit on the table while you work and you don’t need to hold it in your hand.
Made from either elm or spalted beech but please keep in mind wood has different wood grain patterns and will vary from piece to piece.
Approx. dimensions:
H 4.5″ x top 3″ diameter x 1″ base
Also available is a vintage design darning mushroom in oak, reproduced from a plan in a 1902 Woodturning instruction book. The top is approx 7 cm in diameter and the handle is approx 12.5 cm long.
Please note that multiple items ordered from my store will only have a flat rate charge only.

A really gorgeous darning mushroom. It's a perfect size and feels comfortable to hold in my hand. The groove to put an elastic band to secure the fabric is a great addition. The piece itself is just beautiful, very smooth and well made. I'm really happy with it and definitely recommend it to others.

I got a darning mushroom about 3 years ago from Tom and I love it. Its lovely to hold, the wood is gorgeous and I have used it several times to darn socks and other woolen items. The groove on the side is a great help with holding the area to be darned steady by using a tie around it or an elastic. I'd totally recommend this to anyone who likes to mend their clothing. Reduce, reuse and recycle!
