I turned this piece by hand using Irish Yew wood which I sourced locally and responsibly here in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. This piece has beautiful wood grain patterns and a natural finish. The piece has a very distinctive and decorative look as the wood was allowed to dry naturally, allowingthe wood to move. It is intended as a dercorative piece but can also be used as a functional piece. The bowl feels very nice in the hand and is finished with food safe linseed oil.

I work with locally sourced logs and enjoy bringing a piece from raw timber through to a finished piece. My preference is to let the grain, shape, and imperfections of the wood guide each piece.
